When i saw the cover, i thought that ben was depicted by the small rabbit in the floor.

i think this is an interesting cover, witch the differents teddys are the family but without ben. to complete this cover, i think that is important to include Ben, you can put him front of them, back to the reader, we didn't see his face, but we know that he's here. Moreover, that tallies with your idea, the discrimination and the fact that Harriet and david protect them family in front of ben.

ooooh! i like you cover Madelyne because in spite of the fact that your cover is compose with dolls, you create a suspensful atmosphere !!!!!!

I like your cover too Madelyne ! I think that it's a very good idea to represent the discrimination made to Ben by his family. Indeed, we just focus on the fact that he destroyed the family ... And it's very original to show this by teddies, because teddies are reassuring for children :)

To me Madelyne's cover is great because actually she took teddys, which are lovely things and she tries to create a gloomy atmosphere with them: the fact that she decided to use the same teddys to represent Harriet and Ben and some different teddys to represent the other children is a form of contrast. In fact we can remark in the book that only Harriet tries to help, to save and to understand Ben whereas the other children thought: "Ben is not normal so we don't like him, we are not going to try to change the situation". I find this cover very personal and original: Madelyne represents well the atmosphere in the book and what's more she gives her point of vue too: she intends to denounce the discrimination toward Ben in the book. I think it's a good way to make us want to read this book. In a word (or two...:P): great and personal.

To me this cover is great because the two rabbits on the floor are rejected as Harriet and Ben in the book. 

Indeed, Harriet is rejected by her society ( for example at the office party ) and Ben is rejected by his own family.

I tink like Sonia! We can imagined that the two rabbits on the floor represents Hariett and Ben, because, at the biginning of the novel Hariett is rejected by the society, then Ben is rejected too by the society and his family. So I think the two rabbits can represnted Ben and Hariett because after the passage of the institution Hariett too is rjected by her family like Ben. So I think that it's a good idea and a good cover =)

I'm agree with Sarah.b ! in fact we are just focus on the fact that it's only Ben who destroyed the Family ! The fact that Harriet is on the floor with Ben shows us that she protect her son like she always did in the book ! Good job Madelyne !!

Sorry but I don't see in what it's terrible, for me the fact of having put teddies eases the image, but I have to recognize it's a good idea to create alone, we see who is Ben :)

this covert it's very out commun because they are not children , not parents , not house but you catch the important feeling of the book : childhood which are represent by the pupets , i supose ? the pupets who is down create suspens , verry good ! 

I realy like this cover because is original but i don't understant the link beetwen Ben and his family and the teddies put on the floor.

Claire explains precisely what i want to show : ) i decide to put teddies because in every cover there is demons, dark atmosphere like in nightmare but in the book there is not things which are surnaturals, just a family with many children . that's why i choose that, it can make us to thing we are in a world of children and the story can focus on that .
