• These ads are really funny. It could be interesting to take a famous picture and to make pupils imagine what could have happened, what could have provoked the famous photo.

Examples of photos that could be manipulated:

  • Great idea to represent something thanks to words. Instead of drawing the different elements, just represent them thanks to the textual representation of it and put them in context.

What could be the purpose of such a tool? Any idea for any lesson? Can we use it to represent a scene described in a text for example? Or could it be the object of an actional approach?

  • MTV's fusion concept - A vision of the Fifth Child.Have you ever tried to learn a new language thanks to post-it you stick everywhere with the name of the object written on it. It could be fun to do the same at school, for any purpose, or just for fun: you write the name of the object + the phonetic transcription. (or even for a treasure hunt!)

  • I'm sure you teachers (or pupils!) will have many ideas about how to exploit the following video about symmetry!

  • Really simple but great idea. This advert for Mint Vinetu bookstore suggests that you can become someone else (a hero) thanks to reading.

Any idea to do it in class? I'm sure you have many!

Here is the explanation of my work :

I decided to use MTV's T shirt concept for the 5th Child characters. I took a picture of Guy, Rosemary's husband in the movie Rosemary's baby to represent David, because this movie has many resemblances with the book ( a woman pregnant of the devil's child because the husband sold his wife's body to the devil) , then I took a picture of a child looking like Ben ( I googled "violent child" ) and to represent Harriet I took a picture of a housewife of the fifties. Then I wrote their names on the top of the picture but I cut "David" and "Harriet" to do the same as MTV shirt.
I did this work because I wanted to show that Ben is the product of his parents, because we can find in him elements that make us think about David : his way of observing people... David can also be violent, I remember the love scene at the beginning, Harriet has the feeling he is someone different, he is quite bestial... Harriet is someone very disturbed, and she is rejecting Ben from the beginning, and that's probably because of this that Ben is so strange, and expresses his loneliness with violence.

  • Very interesting campaign by Amnesty International. Unfortunately the site is no longer available. We could use the same concept to imagine other useful uses of youtube, facebook, twitter, etc. rather than using them for our own personal interest.

  • Very striking campaign against child labour by Bachpan Bachao Andolan. Moreover you can study how to write a letter and how to use satire and irony.

  • I know the document is not in English but I find the idea excellent (In a lesson about Global Warming for example).

  • MTV's idea was to design t-shirts composed of two different artists. On the left hand side, the renowned artist and on the other side the artist influenced by the first one. The message is "The music never stops".

It could be interesting to use the same concept with words for example or other notions or even famous paintings, inventing thus new concepts based on both elements. We could also develop the idea of influence/evolution suggested by MTV (showing the evolution of a word for example)
